  Emergencies can occur at any time. Our doors are open to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with an on-call veterinarian and experienced staff ready to help your pet.Our after hours pager number is 604-918-1962

• BATHING

  Treat your pet to a luxurious bath. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that reduce the itching. Services also include nail trim and ear cleaning. We use large dryers to dry the coat followed by another brushout.

• BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE

  Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. We recognize that behavioural problems can be frustrating for pet owners. We are well equipped to provide advice to help determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for the client.

• BIRDS, REPTILES, RABBITS AND SMALL MAMMALS

  Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. We are experienced in treating conditions in birds, pocket pets, rabbits and some reptiles.

• BLOOD TRANSFUSION

  We maintain a supply of blood for dogs in case of emergency. The blood is collected from donor pets that live with their owners, and all blood is carefully screened for disease.We are able to obtain cat blood on an as needed basis also.

• BOARDING

  Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care (such as brushing and cuddling), and supervised outdoor walks to keep them happy and active. We can also provide and special diets of treats as needed. If your pet is on medications we can arrange that.

• DENTAL CARE

  Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. We are also equipped to perform dental x-rays. Advanced dental care is available, including root canals.

• EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE

  In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff is backed up by our mobile resuscitation unit, stocked and equipped to administer the ABCs of basic life support – Airway, Breathing, Circulation/Cardiac compressions. Emergency care is offered during regular business hours. We also have a thermocare unit for critical patients to provide oxygen and extra warmth.

• ENDOSCOPY

  High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination and biopsies of your pet’s gastrointestinal system. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of oral, esophageal, stomach, colon and even upper intestinal tract disease. Foreign objects can also be removed without the need for surgery. Our MedRx video otoscope allows us to photograph ear canals also.

  We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field. Many drugs can be specially compounded in a variety of sizes and flavours.

• HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES

  Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. We can also arrange for housecalls to euthanize a pet in the comfort of the home. Private cremations are available for those that would like their pet's ashes.

• HOUSE CALLS

  Our veterinarians are able to visit your  house if you are unable to bring your pet to the clinic in some situations. This is especially useful for very large dogs or litters of puppies.

  We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

• LASERS

  Lasers are a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. Lasers replace scalpels in many procedures, and are useful for a wide range of conditions, such as cyst, tumor, and wart removal, and can even be used in declawing. Laser procedures result in less pain; less bleeding and less swelling. They reduce risk of infection and result in less post-operative discomfort. We currently use a CO2 Laser in a variety of surgical procedures.

• RADIOLOGY

  Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.We have a new digital X-ray systrem which allows us to take unlimited images to find the one that gives the most deatils, then focus, magnify and enhance the image. We can view our images from any computer in the hospital and email them to a specialist for an opinion if needed.

  We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: board certified surgeon available for consultation; fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; padded surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; monitors that record ECG, Oxygen saturation, expired CO2, blood pressure and temperature.   This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available. Echocardiography allows us to evaluate heart chambers and valves in detail.
